It's not very often that you see a movie in RPG Maker... let alone a backstory movie. This is a movie based on my game, RPGM2KBRPG!, which is a community game based on gamefaqs.com. This movie simply gives info of the past of a character, Rodpop (named after his creator). It makes more sense if you've played the actual game, of course. Well, let's get to this.

Graphics: 7/10

Mainly RPG Maker 2003 RTP and a bit of charas custom graphics for the more important characters. There's also use of some of the mack and blue charasets, at least one that I remember off the top of my head. I have no problem with RTP, and it's used quite well here, but could be better.

Sound: 8/10

The music is good, and fits the situation well. It's not the most obscure or well known, either. The sound effects are basically RTP, which is fine.

Plot: 10/10

Rodpop explains the story of the woman he loved and the events that led to her death, as well as his criminal record. The story is very good, though short, but it's truly a very sad tale. You'll learn to care for characters that you only met 10 minutes ago.

Gameplay: 3/10

What gameplay? There's a few battles to play, but that's really all. But then again, this mainly is a movie.

Uniquity: 10/10

As I said before, you don't see very many movies in RM2K, especially backstory movies. Also, this movie uses the save slots for a unique special features system, which includes bloopers, outtakes, and interview with Rodpop, deleted scenese, public service announcements, and some trailers. Very entertaining to say the least.

7+8+10+3+10x2=76

I highly reccomend this for download, especially if you've just finished playing or are about to play RPGM2KBRPG!, which I also highly reccomend, but can't review as I made it... Anyhoo, the score probably have been higher except that there's no gameplay... so don't let the B score discourage you, this movie IS very good...
